The most popular of Native American foods is that of maize or corn. The reasoning is simple. As we found that maize grew prolifically and helped us eat more nutricious meals, we developed more foods of maize. Frybread is the most popular. Read my hub on the true and authenic ceremony of making frybread. I am yazoogal43 at hubpages. We used alot of fish and so are fond of Catfish and Trout, we were to grateful to get food to really name favorites. We love sweet potatoes baked in fireplace ashes. We also like pumpkin. The old saying that all natives love candy and strawberry soda is not true. some like it yes, some no.I am cherokee and chocolate does not send me into euphoria. We like simple foods and the eating of cold blooded creatures has been perpetuated by history book fallacies . at some ceremony rattlesnake stew is served but I do not touch it nor will I.You will see regular american favorites served at Pow Wows, simply because the objectivee to Pow Wows is vendorism. some circle dancing may occur. Only In true Ceremony will you find the authentic. Sorry, that is reserved for the Indigenous. We too reserve privacy. Wado, Donalore
